Abiogenesis is the process by which life arises naturally from non-living matter. In this work primordial shapes arise from nothingness, morphing and growing as they move.
Jill Taffet is an artist who creates large-scale immersive video installations, motion paintings, GIFS and new media.
She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally including The Unpainted Media Art Fair in Munich, The Last Brucennial in New York, Interrupting Entropy: Selections From The Betlach Collection in California and Time Loops: Meaning In Motion, at The Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. She has also exhibited at large public venues including InLight Richmond, an exhibition of light-based art, Art31 Culture Pop! at the Art & History Museum in Maitland Florida and at Light Assembly Verge Miami, during Art Basel Miami.
Taffet was selected to be an Artist-In-Residence at Harvestworks Lab in New York City where she created a new interactive video projection that premiered in March 2016.
Taffet was awarded a MFA degree from San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) and a BFA degree from Cooper Union For The Advancement in Science & Art in New York. She is currently a Professor at Ringling College of Art
